The sound has to reach where you sit

Moving water changes a property more than almost anything else you can add to it. Luck Lagoons & Landscaping designs and builds custom water features for homeowners in Toledo, OH and surrounding communities, from a waterfall that carries across a whole yard to a small spillway you only notice once you sit near it.

Josh Luck holds 15 water feature certifications and was named Aquascape’s Rookie of the Year, so the most complex part of your project sits in the most experienced hands.

Water Feature Design That Answers To the Whole Property

A feature dropped in wherever there was open lawn tends to look dropped in. Placement gets decided by where you sit, what you see through the kitchen window, where the ground already falls, and how far the sound needs to travel. That is settled on paper before anything gets dug.

Waterfalls Sized to the Sound You Want

Drop height, water volume, and the shape of the rock the water breaks over decide whether a fall reads as a trickle, a creek, or something you have to raise your voice over. Those are three different builds. Our team asks what you want to hear from the patio, then sizes the fall to it rather than to whatever pump is on the shelf.

Streams, Spillways, and Pondless Features

Not every project wants standing water. A pondless stream disappears into a gravel reservoir at the bottom, which gives you the movement and the sound without open water in a yard where small children play. Spillways and scupper walls do something quieter, adding a line of moving water to a patio or pool edge without asking for room.

Stonework Set by Hand

Boulders have a grain and a face, and setting them so the seams run the way they would in a creek bed is what makes a feature look native instead of assembled. Our team’s masonry background carries the stonework, and material selections get walked with you before anything is placed.

Equipment You Can Reach

Pumps, skimmers, autofills, and valves get placed for access rather than tucked somewhere that means lifting stone to reach them in five years. Luck Lagoons services the water features we build, so those access decisions get made by the people who will be coming back.

What Our Clients are Saying

Five orange stars arranged in a row against a black background.

“Josh was so thorough in this design process, desiring to give us exactly what we wanted, while utilizing his expertise to share other possibilities with us.

He and his team came exactly when promised, and worked 12 + hour days to complete the job as quickly as possible. They were doing the work in 90 + degree heat, and they did not let up until the job was complete.”

How Your Water Feature Project Moves Forward

1. Property Evaluation & Project Consultation

Josh spends one to two hours on the property, and on a water feature he is listening as much as looking. Where you sit, where road noise comes from, and where the ground falls all decide placement. You leave with a written scope, scale, and budget report. The fee is $200.

2. Design

Water goes on the drawing first, then the patio, planting, and lighting around it. Our design team draws the feature into the property rather than beside it, and 3D visualization lets you judge the scale before anyone commits to it.

3. Construction

Excavation, structure, plumbing, then rock setting and planting. Stone placement is the slow part, and the crew works it with Josh on site.

4. Final Walkthrough

The feature runs before handoff. You stand and listen to it, and if the sound is not what you pictured, flow gets adjusted while the crew is still on the property.
