The pool is where the project starts, not where it ends
As a luxury pool builder serving Toledo, OH and surrounding communities, Luck Lagoons & Landscaping creates complete outdoor environments with pools, ponds, waterfalls, patios, lighting, and planting plans designed to work together. Luxury Pool Design & Build
We create pool-centered outdoor environments for homeowners who want a project planned as a whole from the start. That may include patios and poolscapes, outdoor lighting, pool houses, drainage planning, and layout decisions that support how the space will be used day to day.
-

Natural Pools & Lagoons
For homeowners looking for a more immersive outdoor experience, natural pools and lagoons offer a water-focused centerpiece with a distinct look and feel. These projects are planned around the property, the setting, and the surrounding materials so the finished result feels grounded in the space.
-

Custom Water Features
As experienced water feature builders, we design and build features that add movement, sound, and atmosphere to the overall environment. This can include waterfalls, streams, focal features, and other water elements that shape how the space feels when you step outside.
-

Koi Ponds
Koi ponds add depth and character to an outdoor setting and can be designed as a quiet focal point or as part of a larger backyard plan. We consider placement, circulation, surrounding hardscape, and planting so the pond feels integrated with the rest of the property.
-

Grottos
Grottos bring a dramatic element to pool and water-focused projects, creating spaces that feel immersive, private, and memorable. When included in the right setting, they can become a defining part of the overall environment and elevate the experience of the entire backyard.

What Our Clients are Saying
“Josh Luck and his team are master landscapers.
They were able to take my failing hardscape and repair and revise it in to something spectacular with a new design including new hardscape, landscape, and water/fire features. Luck Landscaping will give you everything you want and need in your yard and then some!”

How Your Pool Or Water Feature Project Moves Forward
1. Property Evaluation and Consultation
Josh walks the property with you for one to two hours. On water projects this is where grade, drainage, and elevation get flagged, long before they turn expensive. You leave with a written scope, scale, and budget report. The fee is $200.
2. Design and Visualization
The water goes on the page first, because its placement decides where the patio can sit, how the yard drains, and what you see from inside the house. Andrew draws the rest around it, and 3D visualization lets you walk the space before anyone digs.
3. Construction
Excavation, stone, plumbing, and planting, in that order, with the same crew Josh started you with. He is on site for it.
4. Final Walkthrough
Water gets running before handoff so you see it working, not just finished. Then you walk the property together and confirm it is ready for how you plan to use it.
Answers To Your Custom Pools And Water Features Questions
-
Our primary focus is complete outdoor living projects rather than one-off installations. That approach allows us to plan the entire space around the water element and create a stronger final result.
-
Projects may include ponds, waterfalls, koi ponds, and larger custom water-focused environments planned as part of the overall property design.
-
Design is a core part of the process, and 3D visualization may be used when appropriate so you can review the plan before the build phase begins.
-
When the pool is installed before the rest of the outdoor environment is considered, homeowners can end up with grading problems, awkward layouts, and costly revisions. Early planning helps avoid those issues.

Luxury Pools And Water Features, Designed For Toledo Properties
Water is the piece that decides everything else, which is why Josh draws it first. Northwest Ohio sits on heavy clay that holds water instead of moving it, so an excavation of any size changes where the rest of the yard drains. If you're weighing a luxury pool design in Toledo, Waterville, Ottawa Hills, Perrysburg, Sylvania, Maumee, or Monclova, the useful first step is having someone stand on the property and tell you what it can actually hold. That's what the consultation is for.
